I know! I know! I've totally neglected my blog this month! I have been so busy, that I barely have had time to breath, much less blog!! So, I'll try to give you a little update in the world of "The Gaskins":
Some of you know that I do scrapbooking "for-hire"... once again, I bit off a little more than I wanted to chew this year! December was consumed with trying to get those albums finished in time for Christmas on top of the usual Holiday madness! Luckily, I made it with 3 days to spare!!
At the
church, I had the
Women's Ministry party and then the
Young Adult Ministry party, the Christmas Program and dinner, and then the
Kids &
Youth Ministries party... whew!! I'm tired just typing all of that!LOL Thank God for my sister who was a huge help this year! {Love Ya Sass!!}
Ofcourse, the girls are always running in 10 different directions! Beth has been busy with basketball, dance, and school stuff. Ally keeps us hopping too with school stuff, dance, and always wanting to be in the kitchen cooking or baking! I can't believe how fast they are growing up! Sure wish time would slow down!
My Mama is continuing to do well through her chemo. She is on the 2nd 12 week phase. She had a really tough time with the first round of this set. I think she pretty much stayed in the bed for the first 6 days. It was tough on all of us, because really it's the first time that she has been so weak throughout this process. Thank God, she felt great this week for Christmas. She goes again tomorrow for the next one, so please keep her in your prayers.
We had a wonderful Christmas! The girls got everything they wished for ofcourse! My sweet Hubby spoiled me rotten this year too! I opened gifts from him for 3 or 4 days!! He'd asked me for a list of ideas of things he could get me, but when I wrote the rather lengthy list, I had no idea he was going to get practically EVERYTHING on my list! Even scrappy stuff!! Got me a good man, let me tell ya!!
We didn't forget the importance of giving to those in need this Christmas. Both the girls and I spent time ringing the bell for the Salvation Army this year, as well as, helping organize gifts for the children our church sponsors at an orphanage in Mexico. I think it's so important that we teach our children to realize the blessings they have in life and to give back.
We got a big surprise in the middle of the night Christmas night... my brother and his new wife showed up from California! Sneaky!! Sneaky!! We had no idea they were coming! It was good to meet Lizzie and see my baby bro before he deploys for Iraq next month. They will be here for a few more days.
I've spent the last few days going through all of my completed pages and albums and trying to write a list of what pages still need to be done.... I'll tell you honestly, I'm a little overwhelmed at how far behind I am... like 75 pages!! Oh well, the girlz at
Scrap-Friendzy gave me some great advice, so I'm gonna just chillax and enjoy the process!! {Thanks girlz! ;)} Better get busy! Got pics printed and I'm about to scrap!! Hope you all had an amazing Christmas! Remember... "Jesus is the Reason for the Season!"
